| Nepal Teachers´ Union and Nepal Educational Republican Forum have announced strike in educational institutions beginning on Sunday saying the Ministry of Education (MoE) was not positive in real sense to address the demands of teachers´ unions. Teachers´ unions have blamed the MoE for not being ready to implement its commitment made regarding to give permanent status to temporary teachers and amend to the Education Act. Earlier on Friday, Minister for Education Dinanath Sharma and representatives of teachers´ unions had agreed to sit for talks with Chairman of Legislature-Parliament and whips of major political parties over the same issues.Gunaraj Lohani, chairman of All Nepal Teachers´ Organization, said they were forced to protest as Minister Sharma who is also the coordinator of the government talks team left for Sindhuli by abandoning the dialogue. Lohani said government and private academic institutions up to higher secondary schools will be shut down indefinitely. | ||
