State owned facilities returned
Former Prime Minister and the chairman of the UCPN (Maoist) Pushpa Kamal Dahal Saturday returned the state-owned vehicle in compliance with the recent Supreme Court ruling to deny such facilities to the former PMs, ex-King and the ministers.He had been using Prado Jeep (1029) of Chameliya Hydro-power Project.Dahal returned the vehicle to the office of the Prime Minister following the verdict of the Supreme Court, Dahal's personal aide Samir Dahal informed the enewsviews. However, he has not given up the security facilities provided by the government.“Security personnel have been deployed for him as per the Comprehensive Peace Accord (CPA). So, he will not send them back,” he said.Meanwhile, former PM and UML chairman Jhala Nath Khanal, former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bam Dev Gautam and Home Minister Bhim Rawal have also decided to return the state-owned vehicles.
Fomer PM Surya Bahadur Thapa has already pledged to return the state facilities including vehicles and security.
The SC on Thursday had issued an order to the government asking it not to provide ‘illegal’ facilities to the former PMs, ministers, and members of the royal families. The SC also asked the government to enact the law to determine the facilities for them.
